Our cost breakdown

@spoiltbytes

Total: SGD 4620~ (2 pax)

Cost per pax: SGD 2310
We use our credit card for some of the expensive places, so a good estimate would be to add another SGD 500 if you are eating at those expensive places, which will add up to around SGD 2800 per pax for the whole trip inclusive of air ticket, lodging, eating and some shopping.

Cost per day: SGD 385

Places we stayed
Tokyo

Nice and big space for an apartment in Tokyo! Its rather near Shibuya.

This place is very near the train station, we booked it for the last day in Tokyo so we can get to the airport without much hassle.

Osaka

I would totally recommend this place, even though the design of this house is not what I would envision myself living in. This house is very well prepared, they have everything that you would require.

Kyoto

I won’t recommend this place, as it is quite far from the city and the share bikes are shared among other rooms so I would take it as no bikes.

Hope this will help you better plan your Japan trip if you are looking to explore Japan under the budget of SGD 3k. I think overall transport is quite expensive in Japan, so a huge chunk of money saved was caused we walked almost everywhere. If you are looking to do it at SGD 2K I think it is also possible except that you need to cut out the expensive food.

Have a good trip if you are going to Japan!
